Polynesia Francaise, 2 stamps / 2 sheets to 200 years circumnavigation of d'Urville with the "La Coquille",
which was renamed "Astrolabe" (1826 - 1829).

Note the different designations on the sheet and the stamp. Besides these two
identical editions of the sheet and the stamp have appeared in the illustrations.
The sheet is inscribed like on the above stamp (200 ans ...), the stamp has the inscription as on
the sheet above (Centenaire ...).

Adélieland was discovered on January 20, 1840 by the Frenchman Jules Dumont d'Urville,
who named it after his wife Adèlie.
Since 1955 it has been part of the territory of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands.
