Watercraft on Stamps

The material below has been extracted from Handbook 117 to give you an idea of the contents of the handbook. The first part is from the introduction while the stamp listing by country and by ship name is from the main part of the book.

A supplement to this handbook is now being edited (22 Aug 2003). No date for its final publication has been announced.

Numbers in this list are those shown in the 1990 Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue, arranged by country in alphabetical order. Numbers joined by a dash indicate that the stamps of these numbers and those in between are of the same basic design. Below is a sample listing with an explanation of its component parts:

I would like to gratefully acknowlege the cooperation of the following who made available their information on ships on stamps:
William A. Coffey, President of the Ships on Stamps Unit of the American Topical Association, who also provided considerable assistance in proofing the final manuscript.
The Ship Stamp Society of Great Britain, from whose monthly journal The Log Book much information was obtained.
Various members of both the Ships on Stamps Unit and the Ship Stamp Society who provided answers to specific queries
